George Li, pianist performing on March 22nd 2014. Praised by the Washington Post for combining “staggering technical prowess, a sense of command and depth of expression,” 18-year-old George Li possesses brilliant virtuosity and effortless grace far beyond his years. Since his first public performance at Boston’s Steinway Hall at the age of 10, pianist George Li has gained significant attention as a recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist. In 2010, at the age of 16, Mr. Li was the First Prize Winner of the Young Concert Artists International Auditions and performed debut recitals to rave reviews in New York, Washington, DC, and Boston. He has appeared as soloist with the Cleveland, Brooklyn Philharmonic, and Boston Philharmonic Orchestras, as well as the Xiamen Philharmonic in China and “I Solisti di Perugia” in Italy. The 2012 Winner of the Gilmore Young Artist Award and recipient of the Tabor Foundation Piano Award at the Verbier Academy, Mr. Li is currently studying in a joint program at Harvard University and New England Conservatory.
